santralistanbul Campus

The Graduate Program in Architectural Design at Istanbul Bilgi University takes place in the Faculty of Architecture buildings on the santralistanbul Campus. These buildings, originally boiler rooms numbered 4 and 6, were constructed in 1914. Part of the Silahtarağa Power Plant complex, which was decommissioned and abandoned in 1983, they are recognized as industrial heritage sites due to their historical and architectural value. In 2013, they were restored and repurposed as the Faculty of Architecture. The Research Lab. of the Architectural Design Graduate Program is located within the Faculty of Architecture. Studio sessions, short seminars, discussions, and juries are being held here. Thus, this space is the heart of the program. In addition, below are the other spaces and facilities:

BİLGİ MAKE Fabrication Lab.

The center of creation and innovation at Bilgi Architecture is our production laboratory. With the support of our technician, you will have the opportunity to learn and use a variety of digital and non-digital production tools; including 3D printers, a laser cutter, a CNC milling machine, a KUKA KR20 6-axis robotic arm, a vacuum forming machine, ceramic kiln, sewing machine, hotwire cutters, digital prototyping equipment, and a full range of woodworking bench tools and machinery for your graduate studies. This facility operates on a reservation system, and we’ll meet you there during the program’s compulsory courses and studios.

Computer Labs.

Spread across buildings on the santralistanbul Campus, there are three computer labs open for your use outside class hours. These labs are equipped with software such as Rhinoceros, MatLab, Adobe, and Autodesk products for you to learn and use. Additionally, Rhinoceros software is managed with a cloud license, allowing you to use it at home.

Kazandibi

Adjacent to the Research Lab, this space is the social hub of the Faculty of Architecture, hosting all seminars, conferences, and jury activities. Traditional events like "Space Talks" and "Open Faculty" are held here. Together with you, we’ll continue hosting prominent speakers in this venue!

Library

The central library of Istanbul Bilgi University's santralistanbul Campus is located adjacent to the Research Lab., Kazandibi, and BİLGİ MAKE Lab., and is closely integrated with the Faculty of Architecture. We encourage and support you to make use of the library’s extensive collection of printed and digital resources.
